Workhorse Generation along with ReWork are supporting Colchester United Community Foundation

Workhorse Group are the proud main sponsors of Colchester United, however our partnership is far greater than just a commercial one.

Workhorse Generation, along with their ReWork programme teamed up with the community arm of the football club, Colchester United Community Foundation. Both Workhorse Generation and the Community Foundation know that supporting and building our communities is much more than throwing money at a problem and that’s where our latest project showcases the benefits of community partnerships.

Colchester United Community Foundation deliver fantastic projects including the Senior U’s over 65 Project and numerous youth projects. Working shoulder to shoulder with ReWork, Workhorse Group's re-use of office furniture initiative, we were able to kit out the learning space as well as staff and reception areas with contemporary, comfortable and productive furniture such as tables, chairs and workstations.

Colchester United Community Foundation Chief Executive Corin Haines said ‘’We are delighted that we have been able to work in partnership with Workhorse Group and ReWork to improve the furniture and facilities at the Shrub End Community and Sport Centre. The facility is used by over 1300 people each week and is the home of all our workforce.

Simon and his team have been a pleasure to work with helping us meet our needs and this really is a superb initiative that they offer to charities like ours.’’

Fraser Cromar, Head of Charity development for Workhorse Generation said ‘’Partnership working and playing to each other's strengths really does make such a difference. It allows charities, such as the Foundation, help people who need it most. Our project ReWork not only allows others to benefit from fantastic office furniture but it helps preserve our countryside by stopping these items going to landfill.

We look forward to supporting Colchester United Community Foundation on projects in the near future as well as other groups and good causes throughout the UK and further afield over the coming months.’’
